Like Gangster Squad, here’s another movie that we didn’t have on our Most Anticipated Movies of 2012 list, but we most likely would have if this trailer had existed half a year ago. Director Rian Johnson reunites with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, whom he previously worked with on his rookie effort (the excellent neo-noir Brick), in another movie with film noir elements except this time set in the near future.

Looper, which looks to be a mind-twisting time-travel tale, features Bruce Willis as the older version of Gordon-Levitt; the cast also includes Emily Blunt and Paul Dano. Looper is set for release on September 28, 2012. Check out the first official HD trailer below.
