The rise of Taylor Kitsch will continue this summer in Oliver Stone’s new crime-thriller film, Savages. Last seen as John Carter and scheduled to dock in domestic theaters in next month’s Battleship, Kitsch plays one half of a marijuana-growing team while the other half is played by Aaron Johnson of Kick-Ass. They go Army of Two and take on a Mexican drug cartel when their shared girlfriend (played by Blake Lively after Jennifer Lawrence dropped out to do The Hunger Games) is kidnapped.
The cast includes Uma Thurman, Salma Hayek, Emile Hirsch, John Travolta, and Benicio del Toro. Savages is set for release on July 6, 2012.
