Uncharted 4 Extended 15-Minute E3 2015 Demo

How can gameplay get any better than this?

July 1, 2015 by

Sony sent everyone away happy when they ended their E3 2015 media briefing with another gameplay preview of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. The latest look at the PlayStation 4 exclusive teased a visually-stunning chase sequence that literally left Nathan Drake hanging and fans dying to see more.

After its strong presentation at the briefing, the extended look at gameplay that was being shown off behind closed doors at E3 instantly became the hottest ticket at the show. Unfortunately, while we got to see almost everything at E3, we too couldn’t get a sneak peek. Fortunately for everyone, Sony and Naughty Dog have just released the full 15-minute E3 demo that was being shown in private… and… Oh… my… God! How does Naughty Dog keep topping themselves? And why wasn’t this full cut shown at E3 to make Uncharted 4 the unanimous winner for Best of Show?

In the extended cut, rather than ending where the teaser did with Drake swinging on his grapple hook’s line, the gameplay continues on another epic chase scene that’s somehow even wilder than the chase shown in the first half of the trailer. But we won’t go into any further details as the events and stunts that occur need to be seen and not explained — so click the play button and watch… again, if you already have!

There was a lot of debate over Nathan Drake vs. Lara Croft before this year’s E3 with some questioning who would have the better showing. And while Tomb Raider looked great, that debate should certainly be put to rest for now, or at least until both games finally come out, because there’s a clear winner here. The real question is now: How can Uncharted‘s gameplay get any better than this? Watching more trailers might spoil too much, and the wait for the game’s release in 2016 is going to be a long one. Hopefully, now Naughty Dog will focus on showing off 60 fps footage of the game’s new multiplayer modes.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is set for release in 2016 on PlayStation 4.
