Classic Maps Returning to Uncharted 3

New DLC and fat characters in multiplayer soon, too!

January 17, 2012 by

Not to be outdone by its Xbox 360 counterpart, Naughty Dog has just released their first massive update to their award-winning Uncharted 3 multiplayer. No name has been given to the latest installment of DLC for Drake’s Deception, but that doesn’t make it any less special with the pack containing four classic maps remastered with new dynamic lighting effects that have been reworked from scratch, new particle effects, and many more technical changes. All four maps are available right now on PSN for Fortune Hunters’ Club members ($24.99 gets you all the current and future DLC) and will soon be available to everyone else for a single price.

In addition to the new maps, Naughty Dog has been working on some new character skin packs, which will include thugs from the series and a fat Donut Sully skin. Still no details on exactly when the maps or skins will be released for individual purchase, but Naughty dog has promised more details soon via their blog. There’s even a teaser image ofย Lazareviฤ‡ holding half a Janus head posted by Naughty Dog’s community strategist, Eric Monacelli, and asking “Any guesses to why Lazareviฤ‡ is holding half a Janus head?” Our guess would be that he’s holding it because future DLC will involve playing as the villains in Co-op Adventure. Check out a higher resolution screenshot of the teaser and a picture of the newest character skins below.
