Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception World Premiere Trailer

11-1-11 Can't Get Here Soon Enough

December 14, 2010 by

To say that I’m excited after watching the full trailer for Uncharted 3 would be an understatement. If anything, I’m sad after realizing that it will be almost a full year until the game is released on 11-1-11. That’s because the series is that damn good. Good enough to win the Game of the Year award over the most overhyped game of all time Modern Warfare 2 at last year’s VGAs, and good enough to steal the show at this year’s VGAs over the likes of other amazing debut trailers like Mass Effect 3, Batman: Arkham City, Portal 2, Resistance 3, Forza 4, Prototype 2, and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Naughty Dog has stated on their official Twitter page that the trailer is all from in-engine and actual gameplay footage. And just like the trailer for U2, Drake’s Deception looks to have Drake once again emerging from the wreckage of a recent shitstorm that he’s created for himself with flashbacks of the calm before the storm. After conquering the implementation of realistic snow effects in Uncharted 2, Naughty Dog seems to have decided to take the third game to the deserts of the Arabian Peninsula and tackle the challenge of in-game sand mechanics. Based on the quick shots at the end of the trailer, it looks like water effects will also play a huge part in the level design and with the recent announcement that the game will be in 3D, I can only imagine what kinds of crazy scenes Naughty Dog has in store.

Uncharted 2 was our pick for 2009’s Game of the Year, so we’re dying in anticipation for next November when we’ll be able to get our hands on Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Hopefully there will be another beta that will get us an early preview. Be sure to check out our post from earlier in the week for more details on the game and the first full length trailer below.
