With the sequel to Thor set to hit theaters in just two weeks, Marvel is already preparing theatergoers for their next big-budget sequel, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. We’ve seen how the aftermath of the events that took place during The Avengers affected the group’s leader, Tony Stark, in Iron Man 3, and now we’ll get to see how said events have changed the First Avenger‘s life.
Chris Evans will be returning as the Cap alongside Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, and other newcomers such as industry vet Robert Redford and rising stars Cobie Smulders and Anthony Mackie. Of course, the Winter Soldier aka Bucky Barns, will be the film’s most important returning/new character, who will again be played by Sebastian Stan.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier will arrive in theaters on March 26, 2014. Check out the official synopsis and trailer below.
After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.
