Seems like Warner Bros. is serious about once again bringing Superman back to the big screen. After naming Christopher Nolan as producer for the upcoming Superman reboot, a list of possible legendary directors was named that included Darren Aronofsky, Ben Affleck, Zack Snyder, Matt Reeves, Tony Scott, and Robert Zemeckis. And now it’s official, Zack Snyder (director of 300 and Watchmen) will be working with Nolan to bring the iconic character back to theaters. Snyder had this to say to THR about teaming up with Nolan:
“In the initial meetings, he’s been super-amazingly smart and also amazingly kind, filmmaker-to-filmmaker,” he said of Nolan. “I have great respect for him. The process has been amazing so far, and it looks like nothing but pluses.”
In addition to Nolan and Snyder, David S. Goyer who wrote the latest Batman films with Nolan has signed on to write the script for Superman. With all the biggest names in comic book movie adaptations signed on for the project and the film set for release in 2012, the only question left is — Who will play Superman?
