After the success of Neil Blomkamp’s low budget sci-fi thriller “District 9” last summer, it was only a matter of time before the alien-based genre started to swarm the movie industry again. With other alien-based thrillers in development like J.J. Abrams’ “Super 8” and “Battle: Los Angeles”, we have another contender for the next big alien-based sci-fi thriller entitled “Skyline” which focuses more on what District 9 didn’t — the actual event of an alien invasion. Skyline‘s trailer debuted at this year’s Comic-Con and has finally made its way on to the internet.
Skyline is from directors Colin and Greg Strause (Aliens vs Predator – Requiem) and stars Donald Faison, Eric Balfour, David Zayas, Scottie Thompson, and Brittany Daniel. Set for release this year on November 12th, Skyline is described as:
Strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth.
