In a strange turn of events, Ubisoft Montreal has just announced that due to footage of their upcoming Rainbow 6 game potentially being leaked by an inside source, they’ll show it to the public first instead. We don’t know whether this is all true or just a new way of marketing in the gaming industry, but what we do know is the early concept footage from a year ago looks very promising, showing an early concept of what the next Rainbow 6 game will look like during gameplay and even showcasing some Heavy Rain-style interactions with characters and the environment.
Ubisoft is very clear that this “Target” trailer isn’t actual gameplay and throughout the entire gameplay preview “Not actual gameplay footage” is displayed in the bottom right corner. Hopefully over the course of the past year Ubisoft has been able to recreate what’s shown here in the trailer into a playable version because this is something I’m sure a lot of people would love to play when it’s released in 2013 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
