Notch Codes a New Game in 48 hours

'Minecraft' Creator Markus Persson's Live Coding

August 21, 2011 by

When not challenging other big name studios in legal battles and to games of Quake, Minecraft creator, Notch (aka. Markus Persson), does what he loves best… he codes. If you’ve ever wanted to see how a game gets made or love Minecraft, then you should head on over to his live stream that’s going on right now.

The creator of smash hit Minecraft is broadcasting himself live as he codes his latest game. Notch is competing in Ludum Dare, an accelerated game development competition where participants often release time-lapse videos of their games being made. Notch only has 10 hours left to finish within the 48 hour limit, so catch the stream while you still can at twitch.tv/realnotch.

Update: The 48-hour time limit is over and Notch is no longer streaming, however, the full game is now playable on his site here.
