If you visited our site early Sunday morning, then you were most likely greeted by a page saying that our site had been hacked. We kept our Facebook and Twitter accounts updated with information regarding the situation during the attack, but just in case you’re not following us on one of the social networks, our site was indeed hacked over the weekend. Although we were hacked, it was not a direct attack on MediaStinger and was the result of our entire hosting company (InMotion Hosting) being attacked. Every site on their network displayed the same exploited index.php home page, so there’s a good chance you might have even seen the same hacked page on other sites around the net. Thankfully, we were easily able to restore the site back to normal within hours of it going down. Our apologies for the technical difficulties and would like to clarify that this was not a direct attack on our site that would affect any of our visitors. Make sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter in case our site unexpectedly goes down again and you’re wondering what’s going on.
Thanks again for all the love and support,
Founder, Webmaster, and Editor
