Mad Max ‘Savage Road’ Story Trailer

Avalanche's virtual carmageddon driving to be as fast and furious as 'Fury Road'

June 1, 2015 by

“Oh, what a game! What a LOVELY game!”

That’s what we’re hoping to be saying in about three months while plowing through a mid-air explosion of metal and bone. In case it takes George Miller another 30 years to grace the world with another Mad Max film, at least we’ll be able to create our own carmageddon in the upcoming video game.

The makers behind the underrated Just Cause games, Avalanche Studios vows to deliver vehicular warfare in an open world depicting the disturbing dystopia that has inspired hordes of sci-fi greats and fakes. Although we haven’t seen much of this neither-Gibson-nor-Hardy Max since checking out a promising live demo at E3 2013, you can bet that Avalanche and Warner Bros. will go pedal to the metal to create a storm of anticipation this summer.

The new “Savage Road” story trailer above might not hold over anybody who’s seen Fury Road until more is revealed at E3 in a couple weeks, but that’s understandable in the dust of a very strong contender for one of the best action movies of the decade. Miller reportedly has been involved in Avalanche’s production, so there’s real hope that this Mad Max will be as fast and as furious as Fury Road.

Mad Max is set for release on September 1, 2015, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
