During the Credits

There are no extras during the credits of Buried.

After the Credits (spoilers)

After the credits of Buried, there is a very brief scene in which Paul’s lighter illuminates the “MIKE WHITE” inscription from his perspective before fading back into black.

AFTER END CREDITS A TORCH LIGHT ILLUMINATES THE DARKNESS SHOWING SOME NUMBERS WRITTEN ON THE COFFIN THEN DISAPPEARS BACK INTO DARKNESS. ALSO WE HEAR A LITTLE LAUGHTER FROM THE GUYS SINGING THE END SONG. NOT SURE IF THEY ARE MEANT TO BE THE “KIDNAPPERS” OR NOT. THAT MIGHT JUST BE IRRELEVANT.

Thanks Aaron, but are there any extras during the credits and any idea what the numbers written on the coffin were during the stinger?

      • monopoles

        hi paul,

i believe the numbers were actually in reference to mark white.
just a reiteration of how the other guy lied to him bout saving people.

hey paul, i just rented it, and there’s nothing during the credits. i didn’t see the numbers (which would’ve been the phone numbers he wrote down) clearly, if they’re even there, and i watched the after-credits scene 3x. The inscription “MIKE WHITE” is definitely there though. The song is “In the Lap of the Mountain” by Garrett Wall & The Breath-No-Breathers.

The inscription “MARK WHITE” is also shown. Could be a reference to Miguel Angel Blanco, a Spanish politician kidnapped and killed by the vasque terrorist band Eta.

I’m curious how you come to this conclusion, Nilo. It’s interesting, but how do you draw parallels between Mark and Miguel, whose name would be translated to Mike in English?

      • Admi

        Mike Angel White

I get it…this movie was made by spanish!! then it connects to spanish politician!!

  • Ishsmith29

Well, is it that Paul is still alive and wrote down Mark White? He couldn’t be dead and then write it. Who is Mark White anyway i forget. Was he buried to?

    • ASDSD

YOU OBVIOUSLY NEVER WATCHED THE MOVIE PERHAPS YOU WERE WATCHING SOMETHING ELSE? AHAHAHAHA

  • Jala528

Remember he writes down the name of Mark White and boxes it to give him hope that he could be rescued because he was. Obviously he was lied to or else they wouldn’t have found his coffin. It showed the name to emphasis that.

  • Evhanstella

and the box around the name “mark white” was supposed to be symbolism and foreshadowing.
    such a powerful movie.
    soo underrated.

cool flick. moral of the story = adultery warrants death. ppl on phone weren’t believable, Iraqi insurgents don’t take ransom,

Mark white was the example that the British dude on the phone used to calm down the protagonist earlier in the story, Finding his coffin is an indicator that he is dead, however, what kind of an idiot would lie to a man in that situation?!?! and subsequently forget that lie, or chose to come clean about it at the last second.
