With Naughty Dog taking a break from the Uncharted series (or at least working on the next one secretly for next-gen consoles) and focusing on The Last of Us, Crystal Dynamics is bringing back one of video games’ most iconic heroines, Lara Croft, in an effort to climb back up to the top of the action-adventure genre that she helped create. But the new Croft isn’t all about glitz and glam and instead is a beat-up and dirty strong female protagonist focused on one thing: survival.
Tomb Raider‘s new serious take is the perfect example of how a reboot should be handled, and if the trailers are any indication of how good the final result is going to be, the new Tomb Raider will most likely be a strong contender for one of 2013′s best games.
