Although it was nice to throw in dwarf tossing and Kanye West’s “Black Skinhead” in the teaser trailer, if you think Leonardo DiCaprio is coming off as another Gatsby in the upcoming Martin Scorsese biopic The Wolf of Wall Street despite charming the girls and throwing an insane house party, well think again.
Based on the memoir of the same name, The Wolf of Wall Street tells the story of Jordan Belfront, who refused to cooperate in a large FBI fraud case involving corruption into corporate banking and mob infiltration, living a hard-partying lifestyle at the same time. That of course ultimately landed him 20 months in jail.
Paramount recently announced that they not only moved the future Oscar-nominated film from its original November 15 date, but it will also clock in at 165 minutes instead of 180. The new trailer focuses on the rise and fall of Belfront as well as his partnership with Donnie Azoff. Who wouldn’t think Jonah Hill would sport those pearly whites and a pair of glasses. Along with Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Jon Bernthal, Margot Robbie, Kyle Chandler, Rob Reiner, Jon Favreau, Jean Dujardin and Spike Jonze also co-star.
The Wolf of Wall Street is set to be released on December 25, 2013, just in time for the holidays. Now for God’s sake, give Leo the Oscar cause I think it’s about time he deserves one.
