The extra audio clips during The Purge continue the final shot’s news reports regarding the previous night and the following morning. They include: “the new founding fathers have released an early statement saying that this has been the most successful purge yet”, there are bodies everywhere in downtown Los Angeles, a witness describing people dragging others into the street to be executed, a public gathering in Times Square to hold a vigil “thanking all those who were killed last night for their sacrifice to make this country a safer place”, the markets opening high due to the release of guns and home security systems quarterly reports announcing confidence in both sectors, Dallas had the most participants and at one point had 200 people in the town square purging at the same time, a witness stating that he lost his two sons last night and that he’s not a proud American anymore because “this country has taken everything from me.”
