What happens in Vegas, goes back to Vegas?
Thanks to the classic original and the sequel that became one of our nominees for Best Comedy of 2011, The Hangover Part III was named an honorable mention on our list of most anticipated movies earlier this year. Now that the underwhelming teaser trailer’s been released, I’m glad The Wolfpack’s return to its Vegas roots didn’t make it into our top 13 of ’13. This has got to be one of the worst and least funniest previews ever for a blockbuster comedy sequel. Trailer trash.
Newly minted Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, and Justin Bartha make up lupine quartet for the “epic conclusion” (according to the teaser, which you can watch for yourself below) that looks to go down a different path away from the formula that Part II jacked from the first Vegas trip. The three-quel brings back Ken Jeong (and probably more frontal nudity of him… is it in his contract or something?!), Heather Graham, Jeffrey Tambor, Jamie Chung, and Mike Epps, but Part III also introduces John Goodman and (what a surprise…) Melissa McCarthy, in case you haven’t had enough of her yet.
Well, let’s hope director/producer/co-writer Todd Phillips is saving his best cards for the actual movie, which hits theaters Memorial Day weekend on May 24, 2013.
