Epic Games is trying a lot of new features with Gears of War: Judgment while at the same time trying to maintain that classic Gears look and feel that made the series a success. But with Gears of War 3 having been released just a year ago, will all the small changes be enough to keep gamers from getting Gears fatigue? In similar fashion to the Gears of War 3 launch trailer, Epic has released another great trailer to Gearheads hyped with the rockin’ “Shooting The Moon” by Mona.
As you’ll notice in the trailer and what I brought up with CliffyB in our interview (before he left Epic Games), Judgment will have a lot faster of a pace than previous Gears and for the first time allow players to climb and drop down ledges, allowing for maps to be much more vertical.
I’m not sold on the campaign being much more than an excuse for Microsoft to turn a Gears of War 3 DLC idea into their last big game on the 360, but the faster pace and vertical multiplayer maps are just what the series needs, so it’ll be interesting to see how the final product turns out when it hits store shelves in two weeks on March 19, 2013.
