During the Credits

During the first few minutes of Monsters University, trading cards of different “Scarers” are shown. After that, college graphics are interspersed throughout the rest of the crawling credits.

After the Credits

There is a stinger after the credits of Monsters University. It lasts nearly half a minute and revolves around a joke from earlier in the film. Check out the link below for a description of the scene.

The scene shows Slug finally making it to class. At first he is happy that he seems to have made it to his very first class early. However, the janitor cleaning the room tells him that the school year is already over. Slug then “runs” out of the classroom.

While the after credit scene is humorous, as the lead up will probably be forgotten about throughout the movie, the length of the credits themselves is tremendously long. Pixar credits typically are long, but when you normally start seeing the songs you know the credits are almost over… not here that’s only about half way done, having to see every person who could have had a hand in the movie, along with every child born during it (a tradition for Pixar along with John Ratzenberger). It really makes it a toss up if you REALLY want to stay to see a bit of humor

Yeah, I think most stingers with credits lasting over 10 minutes aren’t worth the wait. It’s better when the extra scenes just span the entire credits.

Since I read what was after the credits and I can imagine what the scene would look like, and I bet it’s funny too, I’m just not going to waist 9 FULL TOTAL minutes waiting to see what’s after the credits, even though I KNOW what will be showing up after the credits are over, of course, the extra scene after the credits of this movie, is something I can see whenever it’s available for rental or
Netflix Streaming AND NOT WASTE MY TIME WAITING IN THE THEATER!!!!!
