Now that The Avengers is out of theaters and in stores, Marvel has officially started “Phase Two” by releasing the first trailer for the next movie in their massive superhero franchise. Starting the new cycle over again with the hero that helped launch the entire Marvel franchise back into glory, Iron Man 3 looks to take viewers into Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr.) not-so-happy world after the Avengers’ last epic battle in New York City.
Taking over for Jon Favreau, director Shane Black’s Iron Man looks to be much more serious, continuing the trend of darker superhero flicks. The trailer also gives a first look at Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian, who will most likely be the man behind the new red, white, and blue Iron Patriot suit and Ben Kingsley as the new main villain, Mandarin.
The trailer is from the UK and says the release date in April 2012, but here in the States Iron Man 3 is still set for release on May 3, 2012.
