INSIDE Revealed at E3 2014

The latest game from Playdead since their last suprise hit 'Limbo'

One of best and most artistic games of the past few years was Limbo. The little indie Xbox Live Arcade game was about as minimal as it gets in terms of art styles and gameplay, but even without a single word ever being spoken, Limbo‘s gameplay was challenging, and its storytelling was powerful.

Now, four years since the release of Limbo and no other games since then, developer Playdead has revealed their new game at Microsoft’s E3 2014 Media Briefing called INSIDE.

Expecting to be released in the first half of 2015, INSIDE looks very similar to Limbo with no story being told through words and instead using environment sounds to set the scene, leaving the viewer dying to know who these characters are and what they’re doing. Judging by the trailer, it looks like INSIDE will be a little less minimal and a little more action-based than Limbo with the main character again focused on trying to escape from something.
