Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn Full-Length Live-Action Trailer
The Halo series has a history of producing some of the most epic live-action trailers ever to promote the launches of upcoming games. With Halo 4 set for release this November and also set to be the biggest Halo game yet, Microsoft is going all out and giving fans a full live-action series rather than a couple commercials. The live-action web series, called Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, will premiere this October in five episodes leading up to the release of Halo 4 on Xbox 360.
Forward Unto Dawn‘s segments will then be collected, along with 15 minutes of additional footage, into a 90-minute feature film. It’s also being reported that Microsoft isn’t sparing anything with Forward Unto Dawn‘s production cost, said to be somewhere between $5 million and $10 million.
Today at Comic-Con, the first trailer for the series debuted, and I have to say that while it looks good, it wasn’t as epic as any of the previous live-action trailers that gave me goosebumps. The entire first half of the trailer looks more like The Halo Hunger Games: Breaking Dawn with a bunch of kids in a UNSC academy. Thankfully, Master Chief shows up, and the action picks up in the second half. Hopefully, the series will feature less of the Twilight and Narnia kiddies and more of Chief kicking ass when it’s released before Halo 4 this October.
