Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel at E3 2014

Strike fear into the hearts of your enemies with butt-slams.

June 18, 2014 by

Not to be confused with Tales from the Borderlands (which we also previewed earlier this week), Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is the newest entry in the critically acclaimed Borderlands FPS series, offering fans the opportunity to play as four all-new character classes while engaging in low-gravity gunfights across the never-before-seen environments of Pandora’s moon. Set in between the first game and Borderlands 2, The Pre-Sequel allows fans to experience the fighting on Handsome Jack’s side for the first time.

Welcome to Elpis, Pandora’s moon, complete with low-oxygen, low-gravity, and a vast array of new weaponry. Jet-pack boosted jumps and tenderly named “butt-slams” will now strike fear into the hearts of your enemies. Players will now be able to freeze and shatter their enemies with “cryo”, blast away foes with laser weapons, and ride away in new vehicle types.

The latest installment in the series has also introduced four new character classes: the Gladiator, the Enforcer, the Lawbringer, and the Fragtrap.

Nisha the Lawbringer is Handsome Jack’s girlfriend from Borderlands 2 and looks to fulfill the role of a dual-pistol-wielding direct-damage-dealing powerhouse.

Athena the Gladiator comes equipped with her kinetic aspis shield capable of absorbing incoming damage and releasing it upon her foes.

Wilhelm the Enforcer is no longer the cybernetic mutant seen in Borderlands 2, but his former human self, enforcing his will through drones and his combat pet wolf, Saint.

Claptrap the Fragtrap makes his triumphant return, but this time as a playable character. He is seen wielding an assault rifle and cracking his usual jokes.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will bring more of Borderlands 2’s great gameplay, but with an all-new setting, characters, weapons, vehicles, and RAMPAGE.
