BioWare Announces Free Mass Effect 3 DLC

Extended Cut with New Endings Coming Soon

April 5, 2012 by

In a press release issued this morning, BioWare officially announced Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut, a free downloadable pack coming from developer in summer 2012 that will bring additional detail to the game’s controversial ending. The Extended Cut DLC pack will be available on PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and it will deliver additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes that will give fans seeking further clarity to the ending of Mass Effect 3 and deeper insight into how their personal journey concludes.

Mass Effect 3 was a great game with an epic story that was praised universally by critics, but thereโ€™s no question that BioWare could have ended the beloved series on a better note. It’s good to see BioWare not only listening to the fans and working on endings that will provide more closure, but also offering said closure for free when they could have easily charged gamers for the additional content, which I’m sure many gamers would still buy despite denouncing BioWare for such a shady move. Let’s just hope BioWare nails the endings this time so we don’t repeat this cycle all over again.
