Underworld: Awakening Trailer

Beckinsale is Back After the Third Disappointing Film

August 18, 2011 by

With vampire vs. werewolf films still all the rage, the Underworld series is back after its disappointing third film released in 2009. Thankfully, unlike Rise of the Lycans, the amazingly hot Kate Beckinsale will be back to reprise her role as Selene in the latest installment of the series, now entitled Underworld: Awakening (formerly known as Underworld: New Dawn).

Unfortunately, director Len Wiseman won’t be back as he’s directing the Total Recall remake, which also stars Beckinsale (his real-life wife); so instead, unknown directors Mรฅns Mรฅrlind and Bjรถrn Stein have taken over. The latest trailer looks like the film could go either way, but hey, it still looks way better than any of the Twilight movies. Here’s an official synopsis for Awakening, which is set for release in 3D on January 20, 2011:

After being held in a coma-like state for fifteen years, vampire Selene (Kate Beckinsale) learns that she has a fourteen-year-old vampire/Lycan hybrid daughter, Eve, and when she finds her, they must stop BioCom from creating super Lycans that will kill them all.
