Sure, there are probably too many zombie games out there nowadays, but here’s one I’ll definitely welcome as long as it’s decent: The Walking Dead Video Game, which was recently announced by publisher Activision and currently being developed by Terminal Reality (Kinect Star Wars, Ghostbusters: The Video Game). Based on the popular hit TV show on AMC, the first person shooter will follow brothers Daryl and Merle as they fight (or sneak) their way through zombie-infested lands to Atlanta in a storyline that leads up to The Walking Dead‘s premiere season.

Like in the show, players in the game will meet new characters that may be helpful or harmful, and it’ll be up to you to decide whether to let them tag along. You can check out the announcement trailer below.

The Walking Dead Video Game is set for release in 2013 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
