Resident Evil: Afterlife Teaser

New Trailer Puts Heavy Emphasis on 3D

April 4, 2010 by

While most people would agree that the Resident Evil movie series is garbage, I have to admit, I enjoyed the first film. Resident Evil was one of my favorite video games when I was younger and it was fun seeing how zombies and monsters from the game would be adapted to the big screen in live-action.

The cliff hanger at the end of the first film was the best part, seeing Raccoon City left in ruins after being overrun by zombies left the story open for a great sequel. Unfortunately, that great sequel was never made and instead we got Resident Evil: Apocalypse and the even worse Resident Evil: Extinction.

Now, the forth film in the series, Resident Evil: Afterlife has released it’s first teaser trailer. Still directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich, the plot of Afterlife is described as:

In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice (Milla Jovovich), continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead takes them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead – and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.

The trailer puts a heavy emphasis on the fact that it’s going to be the first Resident Evil film in 3D and was โ€œFILMED WITH THE JAMES CAMERON/VINCENT PACE FUSION CAMERA SYSTEMโ€ and also shows some characters from latest Resident Evil 5 video game.
