Overwatch‘s debut was presented by Blizzard with not only a thrilling first look at chaotic gameplay but also an emotional Pixar-esque cinematic trailer that brought the multiplayer-only game’s characters to life.
Now, almost two years later, Blizzard has released a second cinematic trailer entitled “Recall” which focuses on the background story of Winston, the super-intelligent and genetically engineered gorilla who happens to be from the Moon and initiates the Overwatch recall sequence.
Considering that Overwatch is a competitive team-based first-person shooter that won’t include a singleplayer campaign, it’s great to see Blizzard putting this much focus on the characters with such a high level of detail that’s on par with great animated featured films.
Overwatch is set for release on May 24, 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
