Joss Whedon Directed Part of Captain America

Avengers' Director Reveals He Shot The Winter Soldier's After Credits Scene

March 12, 2014 by

As we had originally reported last month, various sites were using Lainey Gossip (who claimed to have already seen a cut of the film) as a source for rumored extra scenes being attached after the credits of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Now that pre-screenings are in full effect and more and more people are actually seeing the film, it looks like the early rumors are turning out to be true, and there are in fact some major new characters who will be showing up during and after the credits of the Captain America sequel. The new characters will of course be a part of the Marvel universe and show up in other films such as the upcoming Avengers sequel.

In a recent interview with Collider, Marvel’s Head of Production, Kevin Feige, has not only confirmed that the extra scenes exist, but he’s gone as far as to reveal that The Avengers director, Joss Whedon, actually directed one of Winter Soldier‘s stingers. Along with Whedon, Anthony Russo directed the more serious second scene, which you can see Feige talk about in the video below.

For full details regarding the extra scenes and spoilers, be sure to check out our main Captain America: The Winter Soldier page. The movie comes out in less than a month on April 4, 2014, while Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release on May 1, 2015.
