During the Credits

There is special message from developer 343 Industries at the start of the credits that reads: “Every Great Journey begins with a single step. This is our beginning. Thanks for trusting us with the universe you love and joining us on this epic adventure.”

The rest of the credits play over a single shot of Earth from the view of outer space.

After the Credits

Josh Holmes, creative director at 343 Industries, exclusively confirmed with MediaStinger at E3 2012 that Halo 4 will have an extra scene after the credits. Check out more details regarding the now-confirmed extra scenes after the credits below.

Spoiler
There is a cutscene after the credits showing the Infinity returning to Earth with Master Chief. As John aka Master Chief comes into the UNSC training area and begins to get his armor taken off of him, The Didact’s voice can be heard as a narrator explaining that the Forerunners are the ones keeping order in the galaxy and that humanity is the galaxy’s biggest threat. The scene ends with The Didact saying “Think of my acts as you will, but do not doubt the reality: the reclamation has already begun, and we are hopeless to stop it.” with Master Chief’s helmet being taken off as the scene fades to black.

If the player completes the game on Legendary difficulty, Master Chief’s eyes are briefly seen when the helmet is removed at the end.
