Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Trailer

The Apocalypse Has Had an Apocalypse

April 12, 2013 by

Like most gamers, I’m not a huge fan of paid DLC, unless it’s actually worth the money and not just an excuse to nickel and dime consumers. Trying something very different, the developers of one of 2012’s best games, Far Cry 3, have gone in an awesome new direction with an ’80s action movie themed expansion pack that they’re calling Blood Dragon.

The latest DLC for Far Cry 3 is so strange that at first it was dismissed as another April Fools’ Day joke. Having nothing to do with Jason Brody and the rest of the characters of last year’s Far Cry 3, Blood Dragon takes place in the futuristic year of 2007 (as envisioned from an ’80s perspective) where nuclear war against a cyber army has caused the Apocalypse to have an Apocalypse.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is set for release next month on May 1, 2013, and features all new futuristic environments, weapons, enemies, and even robot dinosaurs. Best of all, for all those who have already parted ways with Far Cry 3, Ubisoft is making Blood Dragon stand-alone DLC, which means that you can purchase a digital copy without needing a full copy of Far Cry 3. Check out the totally bodacious trailer for Blood Dragon above, brah!
