Dishonored E3 Gameplay Walkthrough

Bethesda Shows Off Two Completely Different Playstyles

July 1, 2012 by

In case you didn’t get a chance to go to E3 or don’t like reading and skipped checking our our preview of Dishonored, Bethesda has just posted two videos showing what was shown off behind closed doors at E3 2012. For those still unfamiliar with the game, Dishonored plays a lot like a mash-up of Hitman, Assassin’s Creed, Deus Ex, and BioShock; the ways to complete your objective are endless, making the replay value not only high, but lots of fun.

In the amazing Dishonored demo, Co-Creative Directors Raphael Colantonio and Harvey Smith guide you through two different playthroughs of ‘The Golden Cat’ level. In the first first video Colantonio and Smith show off a stealthier approach to eliminating The Pendleton Brothers, two corrupt aristocrats who are in The Gold Cat burlesque parlor. The second video depicts the more direct, action-oriented style of play to assassinate the targets for players who don’t want to use the stealth method and rather go in guns blazing.

Dishonored casts you as a supernatural assassin driven by revenge. Creatively eliminate your targets with the flexible combat system as you combine supernatural abilities with weapons and gadgets at your disposal. Pursue your targets under the cover of darkness or ruthlessly attack them head on with weapons drawn. The outcome of each mission plays out based on the choices you make.

Dishonored is set for release on October 9, 2012, on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Check out both first looks at the gameplay below, and check out our preview for an exclusive look we got at even more of the game not shown off in the videos below.
