Destiny Story Trailer Revealed

Sony's E3 2014 Media Briefing Gives Details on the Golden Age

June 13, 2014 by

As expected, with Destiny being the next big thing set for release in the gaming industry, it was also one of the biggest games at E3 for the second year in a row. The upcoming sci-fi shooter from the developers of Halo has a reported $500 million budget and a lot riding on this year’s show for both Activision and Sony.

The cross-platform title’s campaign was again shown exclusively at Sony’s Media Briefing on Day 1 of E3. In the extended trailer Bungie revealed many of the game’s features involving the story’s campaign, characters, user-interface, and massive universe.

Last year’s E3 introduction was more about the gameplay than story, so this year Bungie went into further details about how an entity known as the Traveler was discovered on Mars and ignited a golden age of humanity across the galaxy. That golden age ended once the Darkness followed the Traveler and attacked Earth, leaving the Guardians to defend humanity’s last city against the Forsaken. That is… until Peter Dinklage found you… YOU are Earth’s last hope… so you know… no pressure!

Destiny’s beta begins July 17 with the full retail launch on September 9, 2014, on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
