After debuting the first teaser trailer at last year’s Spike TV Video Game Awards, Rocksteady Studios has released the first official trailer for the sequel to Arkham Asylum entitled Batman: Arkham City. The trailer showcases the new city of Arkham that is said to be five times the size of the Arkham Asylum and also reveals Professor Hugo Strange as one of and most likely the main villain of Arkham City.

The pre-rendered cinematic footage looks absolutely stunning, even without any in-game footage the trailer is proof that Rocksteady is serious about taking the Batman gaming franchise to the next level. Arkham City is set for release Fall 2011 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Check out the HD trailer below.
