Paul Curtin | Founder, Webmaster, and Content Manager
Paul created MediaStinger in the summer of 2007 as a hobby based on the idea of helping people save time. While attending the University of Miami for Business, Paul dropped his minor in Computer Science so that he could focus more of his time on improving the site.
In the summer of 2008 and 2009, he worked full-time internships in addition to running the site. Those summers he saw just about every movie possible in theaters in order to build up the database and make sure the site stayed up-to-date each week. Luckily, now Paul has help from Vinnie, Matt, and many other loyal users who submit information on movies he doesn’t have a chance to see. Because of all the help from other users, Paul no longer needs to see 3-4 new movies in theaters each week, but he still finds time every once in a while to do so.
If he had to pick, his favorite movies would be Back To The Future, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, Fight Club, Forrest Gump, Reign Over Me, Shoot ‘Em Up, Transformers and The Dark Knight. Paul has also loved video games ever since he was old enough to pick up a controller and his favorite game series are BioShock, Dead Space, Gears of War, God of War, Mass Effect, and Uncharted. Vinnie Leduc | News, Reviews, and Database Editor
Vinnie is a long-time contributor who was brought onto the team after bombarding the site with stinger submissions. A native Californian who’s now trying to keep up in New York City, Vinnie adds movie reviews when he’s not too busy, so if he trashes the movies you love, trash him in the comments! What else is the Internet for? Don’t answer that.
In 2002, Vinnie challenged himself to watch a movie per day, finished with a total of 373, and earned the nickname “MovieWhore” from a friend. Formerly an EA video game tester (Rock Band) and currently a medical student, Vinnie has way too many favorite movies but often lists Terminator 2, The Goonies, Pulp Fiction, the Back to the Future trilogy, and The Matrix Reloaded as his tops. Vinnie also has too many favorite video games as well, but his fondest childhood gaming memories include the original GoldenEye 007, Super Mario 64, Duke Nukem 3D, and Turtles in Time. You can follow Vinnie on Twitter @MovieVVhore and check out all of his latest posts here.
Matt Spencer | Movie Database Editor
He is credited with seeing 89 different feature films in theaters in 2012. Favorite films of all time include The Shawshank Redemption, Star Wars (original trilogy), Back to the Future trilogy, Indiana Jones trilogy, and Black Hawk Down. Check out all of Matt’s latest posts here.
Not only do we have a great team, but we also have to thank all of our site’s users who have helped contribute to MediaStinger over the years. The site would have never made it to where it is today without all the help from you guys! If you’d like to join our team, let us know by contacting us here.
